Research and Planning: Magazine Update

Today I continued with the production of my magazine, however I am concerned that it looks too similar to my film poster. This has left me thinking whether it would be a better idea to use a photograph of the victim, or try and incorporate both the victim and the mask together in some way.

Research and Planning: Filming

Today we filmed shots from the main part of our trailer, the car park scene. This involved the stalker chasing the victim and putting her into the boot of his car. I filmed this from many different angles as we plan to jump cut this part in order to make it much more quick paced and tense.

Research and Planning: Film Magazine

I have had a play around with the photograph for my magazine, and it has left me unsure as to whether I want to feature the stalker for my magazine, or the victim. This is a photograph I took for one of the magazine and poster shoots, however I am unsure as to whether I like the effect. I may take some photographs whilst shooting the Carpark scene on the 28th January.

Research and Planning: Magazine/Poster Stalker Photographs

These are various photographs I have taken of the stalker for my poster and magazine, I do not like the way the eyes look, and so I will be using photoshop to black this out, which I am hoping will also make my poster/ magazine look much more eerie.

Research and Planning: Filming

Tonight we plan to film a few shots for the scene where they are walking through the park. This is just to add more to the storyline etc

Today I had a play around with my Magazine and decided I might not use the woods/trees as a background for both my magazine and poster.

Research and Planning: Filming Update

We planned on doing some filming this weekend, however our main actress was unavailable for filming and the weather (snow) made filming impossible. We aim to film some of our trailer on Tuesday, focusing on the park scene.

Research and Planning: Photographs for Poster and Magazine

Today I took some SLR Photographs I took in order to use for the background of my film poster, and potentially my magazine. I wanted the images to look quite gothic/haunted, and so I will also be changing the contrast and brightness on photoshop.

Research and Planning: Cinema Trip

Today I went to watch The Life Of Pi at the cinemas, this helped me to look at the marketing of the film. and other films which were on at this time. Despite life of pi not being the same genre film as the trailer we are making, the way in which it was put together cinematically was fantastic which helped when looking at camera angles for our trailer. Also, the fact that the main character has a small voiceover in parts as he is telling the story was interesting, and may work in our trailer.

Research and Planning: Magazine Research

Whilst at college, as you can see - I started the production of my magazine.
I have decided to use my magazine to show only Horror films on the cover of my magazine, in order for this to be used like a "special issue". I thought this would allow me to be more creative with the horror aspects whilst also creating synergy with my film poster. This allows me to use the same type of fonts on both pieces of media, as well as sticking with similar colour schemes.
