I decided to add a banner along the bottom of my magazine, as well as bringing the text upwards.

Research and Planning: Audience Feedback

Research and Planning: Footage and Editing

Today me and Paige gathered some more footage for filming, these were just small shots such as a letter and a text message which the victim received. I then did some slight editing to the opening establishing shot and also to the captions we have added. I also changed some of the sound in the trailer, to ensure the camera clicking sound was replicated throughout the part of the trailer where the shed is shown.

Research and Planning: Photo Editing for Magazine

This is a photo which I have edited for my magazine cover, I have used the gradient tool in order to give the picture a darker effect. Which I thought would work well for the genre of my magazine, which is film - yet a horror special. I also used a brush tool on a low opacity in order to give the model dark marks beneath her eyes and also along her neck. I also changed the colour of my models eyes, by adding a slight red as well as white. This made my image look much more of the horror genre, as I want my feature to be a "behind the scenes"/"on set with..." type of story.

Research and Planning: Filming Changes for trailer

As we got feedback on our trailer and we realised that our trailer was beginning to look like more of a short film. Also, the fact that our trailer is more of the horror/thriller genre, we need to make the shots much shorter, and fast paced. This will also allow us to properly montage our trailer, to give small snippets of information from the film without giving too much of the storyline away.

We decided on a number of shots that we can include in our montage. These being short shots which would just simply flash from one to the other, in order to create the fast paced nature of a trailer...
- Jess being bundled into the car (this is footage of which we already have which can easily be edited into shorter shots.
- Blood dripping from a knife (We will need to film this footage, however this can easily be shot quickly. This also gives more of a horror edge to the film.)
- Jess screaming
- Jess running
- Message or Missed Call (This was in our initial idea for our trailer, this is just something we plan to put into the montage to make it seem more mysterious and add more to the stalker aspects as oppose to her just being followed.
- Jess trying to make a call but the phone is ringing out, call for help. (Sound from Garageband can be used here.)
- Jess hiding in the cupboard.. (this could be used initially at the beginning of the montage to allow it to keep flashing back to other shots)
- Point of view shot of Jess in the cupboard
- Shot of Jess breathing heavily whilst someone is approaching

Most of this footage can be filmed tomorrow, 7th February, so that we can edit this into a montage of shots.

Research and Planning: Magazine Update

This is my most recent magazine cover, and I have decided I really do not like the idea of using the masked victim on the cover, and so I am going to get some SLR shots to use of Jess (the victim).
